This is not a blog just about my son, nor is it a blog about the ballet school he attends; it is a blog about how a whole family can be affected unexpectedly by one child's interests. This is not a story of parents bringing up a child, but of a child educating his parents. I am not sure if a 'typical' ballet parent exists. However, I do not view us as typical ballet parents - whatever they may be. It is an adventure. Sometimes there is a clash of wills, or needs; and sometimes it all works so smoothly that it all seems obvious and easy. Every week seems to bring something new - an event, a drama, or a surprise.

Please note: in the interests of confidentiality, all names including that of the ballet school have been changed. The Principal Dancer in the story will also not be named.
